Ellen Quinn Banville and Finola Cahill first met on a rainy Dublin evening in a friend's apartment on Upper Pembroke street. Years later they rekindled their friendship in Paris, France and went on to start Pembroke in early 2015. Since 2017 they are joined on stage by their friend and collaborator, Elie Richa, hailing from Lebanon.

Their sound reflects their differing and diverse influences, from blues to pop to soul to lyrical folk.
